AAFP Foundation Welcomes New Board of Trustees

LEAWOOD, KS—The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Foundation has welcomed five new members and elected officers to its Board of Trustees in 2025. These members will continue to guide the philanthropic priorities of the AAFP alongside existing board members and support programs that improve the health of all people and advance the practice of family medicine.

The new members:

• Jay-Sheree Allen Akambase, MD, FAAFP as Board President
• Renee Markovich, MD, as President-Elect
• Andrea Gavin, MD, as Vice President
• Justin Bartos, MD, as Treasurer
• Olusunmisola Oyesiku, MD, MSc, DABFM, FAAFP Physician Trustee
• Sarah Sams, MD, FAAFP Academy Trustee/Board of Directors
• Melissa Stephens, MD, MS, FAAFP, DABFM Physician Trustee
• Cezary Wojcik, PhD, DSc, FAAFP, FASPC, FNLA Corporate Trustee, Amgen
• Andrea Augustine, MPH, MS-3, Student Trustee
